New England Acura Dealers Honor Champions for Children this December

On Dec. 1, the New England Acura Dealers (NEADA) lit the Prudential Center blue with a dazzling LED display for the Acura association and their partnership with Boston Children’s Hospital. This December, NEADA again supports the Champions for Children event to raise funds for the research trust at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Each night of December this year, the Prudential Center will light up in a different color for “31 Nights of Light”, with musical performances and speakers each night.

The event kicked off Dec. 1 with a blue light display to represent NEADA’s continued commitment to Boston Children’s Hospital. At 4 p.m., the dusk was lit up by the lights of the Prudential Center.

“Our 2016 MDX went on display at the Prudential Center last Monday to start, and now I am really excited to light up the Prudential Tower blue tonight for a great cause,” said Joel Avery of Acura of Peabody. Avery and Chris Connolly, president of NEADA, were honored to flip the switch to turn on the LED light display at the Prudential Center.

In addition, that evening also marks the 2015 Champions for Children’s dinner gala with live auction. This all-star fundraiser features Boston’s business leaders and sports teams—the Boston Bruins, Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and New England Revolution. Since 1997, Champions for Children has raised more than $38 million to benefit the hospital’s areas of greatest need and make a life-changing impact on the lives of the countless children and families.

“The work of Boston Children’s Hospital leaves a profound impact on our community and the New England Acura Dealers, myself included, are eager to continue our support,” said Pete Cronin, general manager of Prime Acura.

The Champions for Children gala this year celebrated the efforts of New England Patriots All-Pro safety Devin McCourty, who just hosted an annual casino night fundraiser with the NEADA to raise money for sickle cell research.

Representatives from nearly all seven of the New England Acura dealerships were in attendance, displaying five signature Acura vehicles onsite at the Seaport World Trade Center.

“I always love attending this event, and once again I am proud to be here in support of such an important cause,” said Bob Grelotti, general manager of Acura of Boston.

NEADA’s sponsorship of the Champions for Children Gala is part of its continued support of Boston Children’s Hospital. Since 2012, NEADA has served as a top-level sponsor at all signature fundraisers benefiting the hospital. To meet their $1 million dollar pledge by the end of November 2016, NEADA continues to support Boston Children’s through event sponsorship and fundraising campaigns for the premier pediatric care and research facility.
