The New England Acura Dealers Association (NEADA) will be sponsoring the 2016 Boston Half Marathon on Sunday, October 9 as part of their continued partnership with the Boston Athletic Association (BAA). The Boston Half Marathon starts at 8 a.m. ET at White Stadium in Boston’s Franklin Park.
The Half Marathon, presented by the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, serves as the final event of the yearly BAA Distance Medley, which combines the BAA 5K in April, the BAA 10K in June, and the BAA Half Marathon on the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend every October.
Runners and spectators alike are encouraged to attend and visit the NEADA’s “We Are Boston” booth at the Half Marathon, which will feature a cheer poster making station. The new 2017 editions of Acura’s renowned line up will be displayed onsite. Additionally, runners can find out more about the “I Run Boston” contest, which began Oct. 3, offering runners with qualifying times a second chance to participate in the 2017 Boston Marathon.
“We have always strived to reflect the spirit and perseverance of the Boston community, and we felt that there was no better way to go about that than our continued sponsorship of marathon events and our partnership with the BAA,” said Joel Avery, general manager of Acura of Peabody and treasurer of NEADA.
For the Half Marathon, NEADA awarded entries to 5 runners from the Metro West YMCA and will be providing two vehicles from the signature Acura lineup as pace cars. In addition to the BAA Half Marathon, NEADA will serve as the official automotive sponsor for both the 2017 BAA 5K and 2017 Boston Marathon for the second year in a row, as part of their drive to give back to their local Boston Community.
