The New England Acura Dealers Association (NEADA) sponsored the Boston Children’s Hospital Corporate Cup on July 21. This all-new event took place at Harvard Stadium, starting at 1 p.m. with an overall fundraising goal of $400,000.
The 1st Annual Boston Children’s Hospital Corporate Cup is “a series of competitive events promoting fun, fitness and friendly competition among the business community all while raising funds for the hospital. It was a day filled with fun, culminating with the Tug of War and ending with a reception to celebrate and announce the winners.” Local companies were invited to create teams of employees and compete in this afternoon of field day activities.
The NEADA’s sponsorship of the event included an on-site display of two vehicles from the Acura signature lineup. NEADA was also the official sponsor of the obstacle course, where teams of six members traveled through obstacles—both physical and mental—one at a time for the fastest cumulative time, then completed a final mental challenge as a team.
Other events included a Basketball Knockout, the New Balance 4×400 Relay, the BJ’s Wholesale Club Football Throw and the P&G Soccer Kicks. Skill Events included the Wells Fargo Corn Toss, the Boston Bruins Plank Challenge, the Waters Kan Jam, the Boston Consulting Group Harvard Stairs, and the main event was the Granite Telecommunications Tug of War.
All proceeds from the Corporate Cup went to support the Children’s Fund at Boston Children’s Hospital, advancing the hospital’s most promising programs in care, community health and research, and allowing Boston Children’s to lead pediatric innovation for families worldwide. The Children’s Fund supports programs not covered by insurance, letting kids be kids, helping families in need and delivering care around the globe.
“The New England Acura Dealers have been proud sponsors at many Boston Children’s Hospital events and it is fantastic to see yet another event that will hopefully become an annual one. It is important to us that we can actively take part in helping those in need in our community,” said Bob Grelotti, general manager of Acura of Boston, one of the Acura association’s seven conveniently located dealerships.
NEADA continues to support the Boston community through their fundraising efforts for Boston Children’s Hospital and their sponsorship of the Boston Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K. NEADA has committed to raising one million dollars for BCH by November 2016.
