New England Acura Dealers Sponsor Gala to Benefit Latino Families of Boston Children’s Hospital

On Friday, the New England Acura Dealers Association (NEADA) sponsored the sixth annual La Gala de Milagros para Niños to benefit Latino children and families who rely on Boston Children’s Hospital for health services.

La Gala de Milagros para Niños was held on Friday, Sept. 18, at the Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel, with sponsors, guests, and honorees attending in full force to support Boston Children’s Hospital. Emmy award-wining journalist John Quiñones (ABC News correspondent and host of ABC’s “What Would You Do?) acted as the master of ceremonies for the evening, highlighting the hospital’s amazing work in pediatric care and the contributions of philanthropists and sponsors. The 2015 gala included dinner, dancing, and a silent auction, and honored Cecilia M. Matos, M.A. and Carlos Rodriguez-Galindo, M.D. with the Milagros para Niños Award for compassionate caregiving.

NEADA’s sponsorship of the event was just a small part of its continued support of Boston Children’s Hospital. Since 2012, NEADA has served as a top-level sponsor at all signature fundraisers benefitting the hospital. NEADA displayed one of the signature vehicles of the Acura lineup onsite at the gala and NEADA representatives numbered among the attendees. Cidalia Schwartz, marketing director for Acura of Peabody, one of NEADA’s seven locations, expressed her excitement about the annual gala on behalf of the automotive association.

“La Gala de Milagros para Niños celebrates all the miracles that Boston Children’s Hospital is able to give to children every day. Our association firmly believes in our pledge to support the hospital and we are happy to act as a sponsor for the gala on this beautiful evening,” said Schwartz.

Over the past five years, La Gala de Milagros para Niños has contributed over $2.7 million in funds in order to support Boston Children’s Hospital programs such as the Children’s Hospital Primary Care Center, International Health Services Center, Martha Eliot Health Center, and the Hale Center for Families. Ten percent of donations for the event are designated for an endowment to provide long-term funding for the under-served Latino patient population at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Boston Children’s Hospital is a New England area community beacon—caring for three out of four of Massachusetts’ sickest kids—but it’s also one of the best hospitals in the world, placing #1 in eight of the ten specialty hospitals ranked by the US News & World Report.

NEADA has been working with BCHl since November 2012. The dealers have pledged to raise one million dollars in support of the premier pediatric care and research facility. As part of this commitment NEADA supports BCH through community outreach, fundraising campaigns, and sponsorships such as La Gala de Milagros para Niños.
