New England Acura Sets the Pace at 2016 Boston Marathon

BOSTON, April 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — From the debut of the brand-new 2017 Acura NSX, escorting Grand Marshal Bobbi Gibb, to the many spirited weekend events, the New England Acura Dealers (NEADA) ran a successful automotive sponsorship at the 2016 Boston Marathon.

“It makes us proud to be so involved in such a huge event with people from all walks of life,” said Chris Connolly, NEADA president and general manager of Herb Connolly Acura. “This was our first year and we’re excited to come back in October for the Half Marathon.”

The NEADA was a key sponsor for the Boston Children’s Hospital Miles for Miracles Team, and provided invitational race entries to runners in the area. Through the entries, several participants ran as members of this year’s team. NEADA’s chosen runners also raised over $36,630 for charities throughout the area, including the Boston Children’s Hospital Children’s Fund, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Hoffman Breast Cancer Center, North Shore Medical Center Cancer Walk & Run, and the Denna Laing Fund.

“To see Acura showcased on a national platform is truly humbling,” said Matthew Phillips, Senior District Sales Manager for American Honda Motor Company. “Our association felt a strong connection to the marathon. Just as the Boston Marathon has evolved over history, Acura has also evolved as a brand. Both the marathon and Acura seek progress towards a brighter, more innovative future.”
