Nashua, NH – On April 17, New England Acura Dealers (NEADA) will set the pace for the more than 30,000 participants as the official pace car and automotive sponsor of the 121st Boston Marathon. This race will be filled will milestone moments – Kathrine Switzer’s participation in the race that she ran ironically in 1967; Ben Beach’s 50th consecutive run in the Boston Marathon plus all the blood, sweat and tears that the over 30,000 runners have shed to get to the starting line. Among the pack, you will find Amanda Muldoon (36) from Pelham, N.H. and Robyn Rios (45) from Nashua, N.H. who embody the passion for running and are proudly participating in the race thanks to Sunnyside Acura.
Nadi Malek, partner and co-owner of Sunnyside Acura, said “New England’s passion for supporting sports – the Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots, Bruins and, of course, the Marathon – is unique. On Patriots Day you can’t help but feel the unity that we are one big family supporting the pure goals of dedication and hard work in the purest forms along a 26.2-mile course.”
Amanda Muldoon will be running her second Boston Marathon on behalf of Sunnyside Acura this year. “[Amanda’s] enthusiasm is contagious,” said Robert Niven, e-commerce director for Sunnyside Acura. “Last year, she finished the final stretch of the race with her daughter and a big smile. We are so glad to offer this opportunity and can’t wait to see her do it again.”
Amanda, a full-time worker and mother of 4, explained that she is most looking forward to getting swept up in the community spirit of the marathon. “It’s the perfect course! I love the spectators! Everyone cheers the runners along the entire course and makes every runner feel like a celebrity,” said Amanda. “It is such an awesome feeling!”
Amanda explained that running offers her an outlet to challenge herself. “Running is my life,” she said. “I loved every moment of last year when I ran with Sunnyside Acura. I was thrilled when I got the opportunity again.”
Amanda will be running alongside another fiercely passionate runner, Robyn Rios. Robyn started running in 2013 alongside a group of wonderful ladies in the community and was instantly inspired to run the Boston. On past Marathon Mondays, Robyn could be found on the sidelines volunteering, but this year she will be among the 30,000 participants.
“It’s a dream come true,” Robyn said. “I plan to run the Marathon in a way that allows for appreciation, humility, hard work and I am sure many tears.” Having been a volunteer Robyn admitted, “I look forward to the crowds of supporters and hope to find inspiration in every mile.”
Be sure to look for Amanda and Robyn finishing the 26.2 healthy, strong and with big smiles and tears of joy. “We can’t wait to see Amanda and Robyn cross the finish line. All the training and hard work will be worth it ladies,” commented Nadi.
Throughout the year, NEADA will support the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) for this year’s Boston Marathon, B.A.A. Half Marathon, and B.A.A. 5K through advertising and community outreach, as they did in 2016. The eight dealers of New England Acura are also excited to usher in the marathon spirit with the Set the Pace Sales Event starting March 13th. As the official automotive sponsor, the NEADA will also provide the official pace cars leading the Boston Marathon. Make sure to stop by one of their five booths during marathon weekend to experience the 2017 NSX in virtual reality or make a cheer sign for one of your runners.
